We have to be innovative. Cities were not built with planting in mind.

Carnaby Street
At Scotscape, we believe in evidence based solutions. We have been researching and developing since 2010. Without research, delivering innovative solutions and inspirational designs would not be possible.
Woodland Wall
We planted 24m2 of 'woodland' trial wall in 2016 with trees and shrubs. The trees reached over 6 mtrs in height. Planting trees and shrubs in Living Walls allows us to attract more biodiversity and clean more air.
COP 26 "The Conference of the Trees"
When set designer Es Devlin envisioned hosting a climate debate within a living forest at COP26, Scotscape made it a reality. The temporary woodland inspired thousands — and its legacy continues, with all the trees now thriving in a local community garden.
Case Study
“Real innovation doesn’t add complexity. It simplifies how we care for the natural systems that support us.”

Our LivingPillars have been designed to compliment tree planting.
Our LivingPillars have been designed to compliment tree planting.
Trees are vital in our built environment.
They are our first choice to provide structure, shade and carbon absorption.
The London Plane, Platanus x hispanica, a city stalwart, makes up the largest leaf area of all tree species in Inner London, potentially bringing the most benefits for air quality and shade.
They don't score so highly, however when it comes to biodiversity.
Our LivingPillars have been designed specifically for biodiversity. The logical next step to hanging baskets.
To work with the trees. To be positioned where trees are unable to grow.
There is not one solution to making our cities healthier and more sustainable places to live, work and play. There are many. Its multi faceted.
