Commodity Quay

This spectacular project was designed by award winning garden designer Matthew Bell to revitalise the 4th floor roof terrace from a dull miserable space to a new vibrant area to relax and entertain. The roof terrace was part of a £13.5m refit for the new owners, a very large shipping company.

Scotscape installed approx. 260m2 of composite decking to create 4 new entertaining areas. Corten steel planters were installed to match the other areas of corten steel specified in the project and to reflect the steel used in the shipping industry.

Scotscape also installed:

• 4 zone ‘smart’ irrigation system
• Stainless steel climbing wires
• Planting specimen trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants
• Rendering and painting of the sides and rear wall

All old and new materials had to be transported to the 4th floor via an external lift and through the building.

Project duration 6 weeks.
