Designed and installed by Scotscape both a living wall system and a green roof were tastefully combined to bring a touch of nature into this sheltered garden space at a domestic residence in London. During the design process the client showed a keenness to provide for the local bee population so an emphasis on pollinating species influenced the plant choices.
Low maintenance, hardy and semi shade tolerant species were incorporated into both living walls while sedum ‘coral album’ carpets this otherwise unused roof space. This increase of local biodiversity helps to improve the natural ecological spectrum of which sedum roofs play an important role.
