Scotscape Groundscape Team complete over 874 mile challenge!
The last 21 days have seen the Scotscape Groundscape team take on the Lands End to John O'Groats challenge to raise money for Greenfingers Charity.
10 team members have gone over and above our total target of 874 to clock up 893.5 miles in 21 days!! We have so far raised an amazing £1119.00 to contribute to the work which Greenfingers undertakes reviving and creating gardens for life limited children to enjoy with their families away from the hospital bed. Today is a key day in the Greenfingers calendar named #gardenreleafday with many challenges and events on-going from committed sponsors including Hornby Whitefoot PR QVC Kew Green Hotels Garden Trade News to name just a few.
So what are the statistics? Using the Runkeeper our team tracked our mileage and this is the breakdown:
Total miles required: 874
Week 1: total 361.56 miles (very enthusiastic!)
Week 2: total 274.50 miles
Week 3: total 248.22miles
By Wednesday evening we covered 884 miles, an extra 9.5 miles run on Thursday has seen us reach a massive - 893.5. We really need to mention a couple of staggering mileage achievements from the team - 168.9 miles from Steve D'Arcy, 95.8 from Phil Fry and 91.69 from Sophie Bosworth! Literally brilliant, thank you. We all have the bug now, what could the next challenge be?
Scotscape Groundscape is sponsoring Greenfingers for all of 2021 with a 1% pledge of the value of every new contract won, we are approaching our first quarter payment and can confirm that a minimum of £535.00 will also be on its way to Greenfingers in April to help with their work.
To everyone who has donated to us thank you so much, we will keep you updated on garden progress this year!
