We have been maintaining the vegetation on the tram network in south London for over 20 years including tree works and emergency callouts.
For any transport network, whether it is a road, rail, water or air system the over-riding requirement is safety.
Vegetation enhances any transport system however as soon as vegetation impacts on its safe operation it ceases being an asset and becomes a liability.

Biodiversity
With 30 kilometres of hedgerows and verges, the tram network provides a valuable refuge for our woodland birds as well as bats, dormice, butterflies, bees and hedgehogs.

It’s important to ensure the vegetation is managed sensibly with pruning in the autumn so as not to disrupt insect and bird lifecycles We are always on hand to discuss encouraging biodiversity.
It may be as simple as sowing some wild flower seed or letting some of the verges remain uncut as long as sightlines are not affected and safety systems remain uncompromised.
