Living Wall at Carnaby Street
At Carnaby Street in London’s West End, Scotscape worked with Brimelow McSweeney Architects to create a living wall that was as much about cultural identity as it was about planting. The chevron design pattern was drawn directly from the street's 1960s heritage to create a visual impact in a high-footfall retail environment. When the scaffold came down, the result was, in the words of the project team, 'show-stopping', an installation that's become part of the fabric of one of London's most recognisable streets.
LivingPillars® for Westminster City Council
In partnership with Westminster City Council, Scotscape delivered 16 trial LivingPillars® across five prominent London locations, including Buckingham Palace Road, Elizabeth Street, Market Place, Berners Street, and Great Titchfield Street. Rather than adding greenery in isolation, the project reimagined existing street infrastructure as part of a wider public realm experience, introducing vertical planting into some of Westminster’s busiest and most recognisable streets.
LivingPillars® for Wandsworth Borough Council
At Wandsworth, Scotscape installed nine LivingPillars® across key routes as part of the borough’s wider ambition to reintroduce nature into everyday streetscapes. The result was a series of living interventions that supported pollinator-friendly planting within a fully self-sustaining irrigation system.
Living Walls at Holbein Place
At Holbein Place in SW1, Scotscape delivered two large Living Walls totalling 141m², transforming the building’s elevations into a striking green feature within a high-profile London setting. Working with distinct north and south-facing microclimates, the planting design was carefully curated to create year-round visual interest while reinforcing the building’s architectural identity and environmental character.
LivingPillars® for Clapham Junction BID
At Clapham Junction BID, Scotscape installed 14 LivingPillars® on existing lampposts in locations where traditional tree planting was not possible. The scheme introduced consistent greenery into a busy transport and retail hub, helping to improve the visual rhythm of the streetscape, support biodiversity, and enhance the overall experience of one of London’s most heavily used public spaces.
